These past few weeks I have been thinking more often about my time in Ecuador. God I miss it ! Today my thoughts of eating fresh corn on the cob took me back to Ecuador. I was standing in front of a corn field in Cotacachi Ecuador and the corn was as high as an Elephants eye..
I was heading towards a weavers village in the mountains and I stopped by an organic garden and snapped this photo of some weird but cool spice or flower..
The weavers put their heart and soul into everything they do with a smile. I was surprised with the whole process of how they make the Llama Wool Scarves. I am amazed at how much time and brushing goes into the process. I watched a weaver make 1 scarf and then spend 20 minutes brushing the scarf to make it softer. The whole process took 1 and 1/2 hours..Can you believe it.?
It reminded me of my grandmother when she would make wool sweaters in Pennsylvania for the winter. In Ecuador the whole village chips in and they make Llama wool sweaters,Alpaca scarves,Llama wool hats and gorgeous wool shawls or wraps..
I always remember when it was time to leave I just hated to go. They whole village would always welcome me with open arms. On the way back into town I came across this great halloween mask- Ecuadorian style…cool HUH !
