Cotacachi Ecuador always has a surprise waiting for you just around the corner. I was eating my lunch at my favorite pastry shop….I heard a loud clickety clack and I poked my head out the door and to my surprise I saw 100′s of horses coming down the street.
I found out that today was the annual Quiroga Horse show and bullfight. WOW! What luck… The horses were so beautiful and sleek. It really is amazing to see around 600 horses coming down the street over a 2 hour period of time and ending at a bull ring.

Many riders were dressed up in Llama Wool Chaps and Llama Wool Hats. I especially loved the chaps….I was a little surprised at how young some of the riders were, I think a couple of them were under 6 years old..Very Cool stuff.
This was my 1st horse show and all I can say is it was awesome. Many of the horses were prancing around like you see on tv…

I really enjoyed the horses that were jumping up and down. I actually caught a picture of a horse completely off the ground.. Looks like he is ready to fly…

As I followed the horses out of town I found myself at the edge of a bull ring….Yes the show would be expanding into a great adventure.. but that story is for a day.
